TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Training – Practitioner

Open Group logó

This course builds on the TOGAF® Standard by focusing on its practical application and deepening the knowledge gained at the Foundation level.
Participants will learn how to execute the full ADM cycle in practice, manage stakeholders, handle change management, and apply requirements management along with supporting techniques.

It is designed for those who want to apply the TOGAF® Framework in real organizational environments and prepare for the Practitioner-level certification.
The two-day (2×8 hours) program is an officially accredited training by The Open Group, fully meeting international requirements.

The objectives and benefits of the training

Why is it useful to obtain the TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture – Practitioner level?

The TOGAF® standard is an internationally recognized enterprise architecture framework that enables organizations to align their business, IT, and technology goals through a structured, system-level approach.

Further information about the TOGAF® Standard »

The Practitioner level builds on the Foundation level, teaching how to apply the standard in practice and how to tailor the ADM to the specific needs of an organization.
The skills gained will help with:

  • designing and managing real-world architecture projects,
  • incorporating stakeholder needs into the ADM,
  • creating roadmaps, capability plans, and gap analyses,
  • managing changes and maintaining the architecture in the long term.

Obtaining the certification not only represents professional recognition but also provides a competitive advantage in the job market – particularly in leadership, architectural, and management roles.

What skills and perspectives does it provide?

By completing the course, participants will be able to:

  • apply all phases of the ADM in real-world projects,
  • identify, manage, and communicate effectively with stakeholders,
  • create and document the Architecture Vision,
  • develop business, data, application, and technology architectures,
  • plan and manage implementation,
  • manage architectural changes over the long term,
  • track and prioritize requirements,
  • apply additional TOGAF® techniques such as risk management, gap analysis, and capability planning.
Who is it for?

The TOGAF® Practitioner course is beneficial for those who:

  • already hold the TOGAF® Foundation (Level 1) certification,
  • work as enterprise or business architects and wish to expand their practical skills,
  • are project managers, consultants, IT or business analysts seeking deeper methodological knowledge,
  • are leaders, decision-makers, domain or solution architects who want to use the TOGAF® standard to manage projects and transformations.

Details the purpose of the Architecture Vision phase, the sequence of tasks, and the desired outcomes. Includes defining the project scope, engaging relevant stakeholders, applying business scenarios, and documenting the fundamental objectives. Reviews outputs of this phase, such as the Architecture Vision document, the Architecture Work Statement, and the communications plan.
  • 4. Architecture Development (Business, Data, Application, and Technology Architectures)

Explains the purpose and activities of the Business, Data, Application, and Technology Architecture phases. Covers the use of content metamodels and viewpoints, managing building blocks, and aligning business and technology aspects. Also addresses integrating risk and security considerations. Shows how these phases fit into the overall ADM logic.
  • 5. Implementing the Architecture

Covers the objectives of Phases E and F: planning and governing the implementation. Includes creating roadmaps and work packages, defining schedules and resource needs, and managing necessary changes during implementation. Also discusses developing implementation and transition architectures.
  • 6. Architecture Change Management
