TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Training – Foundation

Open Group logó

This course provides an introduction to the TOGAF® concepts, structure, and the steps of the ADM cycle. It establishes the theoretical foundation needed for higher levels and prepares participants for the Foundation exam. It is recommended for anyone who wishes to organize their architectural knowledge based on a structured, internationally recognized standard.

The two-day (2×8 hours) program is an officially accredited training by The Open Group, fully aligned with international certification requirements.

The objectives and benefits of the training

Why is it useful to obtain the TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture – Foundation level?

The TOGAF® Standard is an internationally recognized enterprise architecture framework that supports a systems-thinking approach to aligning organizational business goals with technological solutions. The Foundation level provides not only a solid understanding of the TOGAF® Standard, 10th Edition, but also offers a common professional vocabulary and methodology that facilitates collaboration between operational and strategic, business and IT areas.

The knowledge acquired during the course contributes to standardizing enterprise-level processes, making them more structured and transparent. It helps clarify concepts related to enterprise architecture and provides a unified approach for professionals involved in EA-related activities. Earning the certification brings not only professional recognition but also a competitive advantage in the job market—especially in roles that require structured thinking in complex systems.

What skills and perspectives does it provide?

Through the course, participants will be able to:

  • understand the fundamental role of Enterprise Architecture (EA) in organizational operations;
  • gain an overview of the key components of the TOGAF® Standard, with a focus on the Architecture Development Method (ADM);
  • recognize the relationship between the TOGAF® framework and other architecture frameworks (e.g., ArchiMate);
  • become familiar with architecture content structure, stakeholder needs, and types of architectural outputs;
  • apply basic TOGAF® techniques and terminology.

The course primarily provides theoretical foundations and aims to help participants understand the TOGAF® approach and vocabulary, while preparing them for the TOGAF® EA Foundation (Level 1) certification exam.

Who is it for?

The TOGAF® Foundation course is beneficial for anyone who:

  • works as an enterprise or business architect, or is looking to move into such a role;
  • is a project manager, consultant, IT or business analyst working with complex systems;
  • is a leader or decision-maker who wants to understand the strategic alignment of IT and business objectives;
  • is a domain or solution architect seeking a structured methodology for architecture development;
  • is involved in the enterprise architecture process and wants to speak a shared language with other TOGAF® certified professionals.

After completing the Foundation level, the Practitioner module provides an opportunity to deepen theoretical knowledge through practical application.
